Well hello there!!

Now that we’ve gotten the big Apple announcement out of the way, it’s time to talk about our next event. You know how every time you go to a SMC-DC or other networking event, you invariably have to populate a nametag? Well, our March event will hopefully help you look good in that nametag! Let’s get right to the juicy details:

Date & time: Wednesday March 21, 2012, 6:30-8:00 pm (add to your calendar)

Location:

One Lounge (http://oneloungedc.com/)
1606 20th St. NW
Washington, DC 20009 (find on Google Maps)

Getting there: Our friends at Uber DC are helping SMC-DCers who are first time riders arrive in style with $15 off their first trip! Use the promo code SMCDC2012 at Uber.com or in the Uber iPhone/Android app to receive your discounted ride.

Topic: Social Media is far more than an opportunity to keep tabs on friends and family; it can be a powerful tool for finding and securing employment. The face you present to the online world – your personal brand – can either be an asset or a hindrance to your career plans. Whether you work in the Social Media sphere or not, who you are and what you do online can have real “in-person” consequences. Our experts will discuss the finer points of building your personal brand and how to use social media to pave the way to a successful career (or at least how it can get your foot in the door).
