Marilyn Terrell – National Geographic Traveler (@Marilyn_Res)
Marilyn began her career in Journalism answering Letters to the Editor (personally! by snail mail!) to TIME magazine in Manhattan before moving to Alexandria with Time-Life Books. She moved to National Geographic in 2001 as senior researcher for Traveler magazine and became Chief Researcher in 2004. She helped found Nat Geo’s first blog, Inside Traveler, which became Intelligent Travel and attracted 3 million unique views in 2012. Additionally, Marilyn discovered travel writer Andrew Evans, helped launch his career as Nat Geo’s Digital Nomad in 2010 and spotted the Banff Crasher Squirrel among user submitted photos to Nat Geo’s Your Shot in August 2009 and helped catapult the image to international meme-dom.
